RULES
1. GODMODDING! Don't do it! This is rule number one because it's especially important with regard to superpowers. Just because your character can do something to someone else's character, does not mean they are allowed to if it has not been okayed by the player. Communication here is absolutely key.

2. RESPECT! Basic etiquette applies: be polite and respectful, do your best to work out problems before they become problems, remember that IC and OOC are not the same thing both with regard to getting upset with one another, and with information. Nobody likes a dramallama, either.

3. LIMITS! There is no official character limit; however, we reserve the right to refuse to accept more characters from a player if their previous characters are not all active. This applies whether the player has two characters or five. In addition, the same player cannot have two characters that we feel are too closely related, whether by blood (e.g. Narcissa and Andromeda) or affiliation (e.g. James and Peter).

4. ACTIVITY! Each character must have a journal every week, and a thread every two weeks. Player hiatuses will change these monthly requirements (i.e., a player who must take a week off will only need three journals per month, not four). A character is allowed ONE free pass if they fail a monthly activity check, at the player's request; they will not get another one.

5. HIATUSES! If you need a hiatus, you must post about it in the OOC community, or it will not be valid. If necessary you may ask another player or the mod to post this for you, but we want everyone to be aware of who's around and who isn't. In this day and age of ubiquitous technology, there's absolutely no reason you can't find a library and use a computer for two minutes to send an email with this information, and even if you've broken both arms, surely you have a trusted friend who can type for you? Because of this, retroactive hiatuses WILL NOT be acceptable. You can't come back after three weeks incommunicado, claim that you broke both arms and have no friends, and expect your monthly requirements to be lowered for you. In addition, hiatuses of longer than one month will not be allowed. Yes, everyone has a life, and everyone gets busy, but if you're that busy for that long, this is not the game for you.

6. PROFILES! Each character must have their profile in their journal and open to the public, so that other players and potential applicants are able to peruse it. You do not need to have any OOC information public at all, and you may make your journal friends-only if you so desire, but the profile MUST be public.

7. BUTTON! Every character must push the friends button every time it is posted. Games don't survive without people interacting, and people can't interact if they can't see each other's posts!

8. RATINGS! There is no age limit for this game; however, we ask that anyone under eighteen refrain from NC-17 threads. All NC-17 material must be locked.

9. PLOTS! If you wish to embark on a plot such as death, long-term or permanent injury, pregnancy, etc., you MUST run it by a mod first. This is not because we take pleasure in shooting people down, but because we also have plans and wish to ensure that everything works out smoothly. Basically, if you think a plot is major enough that the mods should be informed, it probably is.

10. MODS! The mods reserve the right to change or add to these rules at any time, although any such changes will be announced in the OOC community. We are friendly people and we're coming to this game with an attitude of "dude, Harry Potter with superheroes, let's all have FUN," so don't be afraid to contact us if you have questions or problems! We want to make this game a great experience for as many people as possible, and the rules are here to help with just that.
